ChrisA
Up until now i have done a work around on this but I am now taking a few minutes to figure out a better way, with help of course. I would like to: Create a wall at 8'- have it render with siding and generate accurate materials take-off. Create a slab at 1'0" - that the outside face renders with siding. If I use model set up to create floor and slabs and I have it set from FF to FF. My take offs are all wrong and the stud heights are for a 9' wall. But they render correctly(with the siding covering the slab). if I set my layer height manually I get the right take-offs but I can't have the siding render on my band boards. In the real world I like to run my sheathing to the top of the wall below, Completely covering the bands and plates, creating a tighter envelope. Right now i just show this detail using a 2D drawing on a sheet. I hope this makes sense. I will be in and out of the office all day so i apologize if I don't respond right away. thanks C Quote Link to comment
Jeffrey W Ouellette
Hi Chris, What you are looking for is the ability of wall components to wrap around/down the edge of the slab. This was introduced in Vectorworks Architect 2011. Quote Link to comment
ChrisA
thanks Jeffery that is exactly what I am going for. So I am SOL until I upgrade i guess? C Quote Link to comment
