Exporting STL Files

I have been having trouble exporting STL files from 2011.

When the STLs are imported into GeoMagic Studio the polgons are all unstiched with gaps between them.

I have discovered that this does not happen with VW2008 so it must be a translation problem in VW2011.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Should I file it as a bug or is it too idiosyncratic for VW to worry about?

Any help gratefully received.
