jhutchison
We are running the new 9.5 on Mac OS 10.1.2. Our plotter is an HP 455CA on an ethernet network. Because the HP RIP software that came with the plotter no longer works with VW9 and later, we purchased the Microspot Graphic Pak, which works beautifully with the HP plotter. However, Microspot does not work in OS X. Does anyone have a printing solution so they can plot in OS X? Quote Link to comment
MikeB
I have been doing two things. 1. Use the 455ca ppd thru the print center to add it as a printer. You still cannot print to the machine, but you can use the ppd to get the page sizes and printer options and then output as a postscript file. Then use the Rip software in classic to send the file to the printer. 2. Install a second copy of VW and set it to launch in classic. Then you can use the chooser and the Microspot graphic pak to print as you normally would. The only problem is you cannot run the carbon and classic versions at the same time because they cannot share the SN. So if you work in carbon you will have to quit VW and launch it in classic to print. Microspot has indicated that they will release some OS X Drivers in Feb of 2002. Hopefully all of this will become easier over time. Good Luck Quote Link to comment
Donald Wardlaw
Since v.9 came out I have been doing this: On a second, not so current computer, I keep VW8 on Mac OS 8.5, with the last version of power plot. I save a copy to VW8 on the old not yet a doorstop, and print from that. I have not found any differences between what I see in VW9/9.5 and what is printed on the older software.
