brent kjernisted
I tried converting the walls to nurbs so I could chose the path for the baseboard molding to follow but the walls would not convert to a nurbs object. What do I need to do in order to highlight my path. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
brent kjernisted
I used the extract tool to create the path so now I need to snap my molding in place and loft it around the path. I'll try that in the next 15 minutes. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Try> Create Space from >Walls ( or Polygon) ... then Space> edit ( enter Group )> extract the polyline and use it for your path. Quote Link to comment
brent kjernisted
When I import the base into Vectorworks you have to use the rectangular selection mode to see the molding and when you try to select it as your profile before you loft it,it can't be selected. I'm stumped. By the way I turn the molding into a nurbs object so it can be seen in it's proper orientation in the different views. Quote Link to comment
brent kjernisted
Unless you select the molding profile with the rectangular slection toolit stays hidden. This happens even after you have turned it into a nurbs object. By the way the other setting that seems to work to export from Rhino3d is the last dwg setting. I'm going to have to go back and reimport the dxf files and see if the rectangular selection tool will make any of these file types visible. Even when you select the dwg files they seem to be clouded and not the bright orange you would normally expect.Maybe someone has an answer for this abnormality. Quote Link to comment
brent kjernisted
Thanks islandmon for your advice. I'll give it a try tomorrow afternoon. Quote Link to comment
Guest Wes Gardner
Brent, For your base molding, have you considered a simple Extrude Along Path? I typically just draw my pathes with the polygon tool, then find (or create) a section of molding that's appropriate and run the EAP command. Wes Quote Link to comment
