I have installed a student version of VW Designer 2008 with Renderworks without any visible errors being reported.
After a reboot, I run VW and receive a message ' VectorWorks 2008 Application has stopped working'. I've changed the permissions for the VW exe to run as admin and also in the compatibility mode to run as WIN XPsp2. I do this for the user I'm logged on as (which is also part of the admin group) and also for all users.
I've applied VW SP3 and also upgraded Quicktime. With Quicktime, if I install a version newer than v7.1.6, when I run QT, I receive a message saying that the application requires a version of Windows greater than Win2000 to run. I've downgraded back to Quicktime 7.1.6 and Quicktime now runs without error but the VW problem still exists.
I've tried a 2nd disk to install VW from and also tried copying the files from the source disk to my hard disk and then installed direct from the hdd.
VW doesn't appear in Control Panel => Programs and Features as an installed program but my other apps do.
I'm using McAfee Security Center and have allowed VW and Quicktime through the firewall and also tried running VW without the firewall.
