T-D
I have a big problem when importing any vectorworks file to adobe illustrator. I tried dxf/dwg and eps but all exports/imports crash. Polylines are displayed with little annexes when using dwg/dxf (no filling) and the filling is defect when using eps. I used "Add surface" alot and it is a pretty complex polyline. Is there a possibility to reduce the size of the polyline/combine it somehow so that it is accepted in Illustrator? Other problems: dwg/dxf: text wasn?t imported in Illustrator at all (I don?t now at what point it got missing); even though I checked the box "export to layer: classes" all data appeared on the same layer in illustrator. Thanks for any help I can get! Vectorworks 10, Mac Quote Link to comment
islandmon
First, you are using a legacy version of Vectorworks which was somewhat deficient when it came to dwg export. Although dxf is less problematic it doesn't allow for many important attributes. Illustrator is looking for the vectors . In dxf.dwg export the classes & layers are reversed from VW.. in otherwords dwg sees VW Layers as classes ... You may need to use an intermediary such as "eDrawings.app" . Quote Link to comment
