Input z coordinate?

Hi, might sound like a silly question, but I'm trying to create a rail to loft a curve and I'm having trouble. Is there a way to input the z coordinate when drawing a line?

Only 3d objects have z values. If a straight line is what you are after, you can draw a 2d line and convert to 3d poly or NURBS, or draw a straight line with the 3d polyline tool. The z value shown in the OIP of any of the above will correspond to the z value of the center of the object.

Or are you inquiring about something else?
