position object misbehaving

I'm working on a light plot with several lighting positions. Some imported from VW lighting positions (favorites file) and some I've created myself. I have a position named Bridge DS. Now whenever I try to place a new position by selecting a position in the resource browser (making it the active symbol) and then clicking on the place lighting position tool...I get the revolving clock followed by the spinning beach ball...and then my Bridge DS position is selected including all of its instruments. Obviously a bug of some sort. Anyone else come across this?

(Older system I know):

Dual 450 PowerPC G4

Mac OS X 10.4.11

512 MB SDRAM

VW 2008 Student edition (SP2) I've tried updating to SP3 but it won't take.

You need more RAM, that should also cure your SP3 issue

I plan to get more ram. I did rename the position and this seemed to fix the problem for the time being.
