VectorWorks is constanty lagging

4 GB of ram

Quadro fx 570

I am having constant issues with VectorWorks lagging and locking up. I know that my vid card is not top of the line but I would expect it would run wireframe fine. Any suggestions?

Allen,

If you are on Windows, run Task Manager and monitor it while VW is running. It should tell you if VW is sucking up resources, or if something else is. Are you running SP3 of VW2008? What verison of Windows are you using?

Thus far I have been unable to download SP3 because of proxy issues with my company. (Currently wading through red tape).

I am running windows XP.

A pan or zoom takes about 30 sections sometimes on a simple drawing while other times it just locks up.

Have you at least updated to SP1?

I have not been able to. Every time I try to install the SP I a "socket error" Apparently it is a proxy issue.

This is a bug with the original release of VectorWorks 2008. Until you can update, quit and relaunch when it starts to slow down.

Ray is correct. An update to the latest SP should fix your problem.

I have just installed SP3.

I am currently working on a drawing where I am using a PDF as a template. I have imported the PDF and scaled it to the proper size. Now every time I do a pan or zoom it takes about 10 seconds to update the image. I don?t know what is going on it is a simple black and white image.
