i am a surveyor using a total station to gather survey data. once this has been imported into vectorworks 2008 i can process the data that i have collected in the field with no problem.
however, recently i have been wondering whether it is possible to export a vectorworks file into 3dstudio max in order to build a terrain model which i can then use to generate sections through the model.
i have tried to do this but have so far drawn a blank as to how to do this. if i export the vectorworks file as a dxf file i get all the points but no height values which is really confusing and not what i am trying to achieve.
can anyone shed any light on this issue? is it a problem with the way i am exporting the files?
