Using Viewports to create sheet elevation

Recommended Posts

When creating elevations for a sheet( front, sides and rear)- I use the model layer to produce the elevations of the buidling angle I would like see. I always run into this problem- I use the hidden line rendering mode to see the elevation. This produces blank walls . How would I get the effect that there is siding on my building? If I go back into the sheet and choose the annotation and then create the appropriate hatch but s I need to go back and cut out the appropriate areas where windows and doors are- Ia there and easier way to achieve this. This would also apply to say a metal roof or say brick siding.

At a certain point do I need do need to convert the drawings to lines
