Door shim space customization

This has probably been addressed but I could not find it by searching...

Regarding the door schedule and shim space.

I usually make the door rough opening width the door width plus 2.5" and the rough opening height door height plus 2.5" to account for flooring and gap at the bottom.

However, VW adds jamb + shim space to the width and height to give me a rough opening different from what I want. If I have a jamb of 3/4" and shim space of 1/2" then I get ROw door + 2.5" and ROh door + 1.25".

I can't figure out a method or work around to get the door size I want with the rough opening I want. I tried messing with the threshold and it did not affect the rough opening.

This is a big problem for me as right now my only thought is to liquid paper over the RO height and hand write in what I want it to be.

Someone must have figured out a solution to this - or I am missing something obvious...
