rsa
I'm creating a dormer in the center of a roof face with no offset from the wall and now I can't open the dormer edit window. It seems like the roof face 'button' is at the same location as the dormer 'button'. I can only open up the roof face edit window. Any ideas? I'm forced to undo the dormer and re-create it to make changes. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Switch to an isometric view - you'll be able to choose the dormer editing button a little easier. Quote Link to comment
rsa
I tried that and flying over to various angles and still can't edit the dormer. The button always opens the roof face. Quote Link to comment

Guest
Once viewing the file, it is tricky to edit the dormer. If you find yourself in the same situation, one thing you can do is change the roof edge shape from eave to gable. Make the change to the dormer, and then change the roof edge shape back to eave (hip). If you do this, when you change the roof face from a gable to a hip roof face, make sure you change the pitch of the roof from 90 degrees to the correct pitch. Otherwise, you'll end up with an error message and/or a gable end still. Quote Link to comment
