blimey
Hi, I'm trying to make a panoramic view in piranesi. I need 6 cam looking straight in each directions (N,S,E,W,up and down) with identical standing point. I can get NSEW quite easily. A simple cam looking a the ground and at the sky is however quite impossible to set. Impossible to set a cam other than in top view, than I can't rotate it in 3D to look at the sky straigth! if I try to increase the height of the view point it turns out to look at the soil!! 've trying whole day. it drives me nuts! Is my conclusion right : this is just impossible????? Quote Link to comment
Keith Hadland
Just had a quick play with a simple model - one extrude placed above the camera, one below. With camera height at 0 I used 'fine tune camera settings' and started typing 9's into the 'look to height' field. 5 9's (units set to mm) gave a view pretty well straight up, then on entering the 6th '9' the view changed to the object below the camera. Looks like there may be a sweet spot where you can set the height to (hopefully) near enough vertical but then some bug/feature flips it round. Quote Link to comment
blimey
yeah. that's exactly what happens! can't have a straight view of the sky! I tried to do it by setting a bottom view and addind perspective but I can't use it for my pan since i need a fixed point for the ground and the sky view (the cam should be set at the same position)... Crazy! Quote Link to comment
