Davis Design
I am running vectorworks 8.5.1 on a mac g3; whatshould i set the memory requirements at when i use the 'get info.' for the app. Quote Link to comment
Guest
The standard memory setting default is set by Vectorworks. If you are working with larger files and experiencing problems a feasible solution is the set your Minimum size to the Suggested size and make your Preferred size 10 megs or more higher then your minimum ( The distance between this is known as the Partition). This is depending upon what you are doing with the file. Printing, Exporting and Rendering (Renderworks and QuickDraw3d) use memory resources outside of the Vectorworks program, Therefore you should make sure you keep enough resources outside of the program when performing these operations. Otherwise if a large or complex drawing is causing problems then increasing the preferred size to Vectorworks should help. Quote Link to comment

Davis Design
sorry about that last reply- pressed the wrong button. Anyways, I experience lack of memory errors mainly when I am trying to import image files into a drawing- if there is an external app for this - where is it and how do I adjust memory Quote Link to comment
Guest
Importing is actually using preferred memory allocated towards Vectorworks. If you find a large file is giving you some trouble then do the following. (Mac Users only) 1. Exit Vectorworks. 2. Go into Vectorworks folder and Highlight Vectorworks Icon 3. Go to file dropdown menu and select GetInfo, Then Memory. 4. Set your preferred size higher. you may need to experiment depending on the complexity of the file being imported. Quote Link to comment
