Cerveza Little
I have a series of files, all descendants of an original file, that were working fine today until I came back after a break and found that some objects in some layers can no longer be selected, and that they seem to have grouped together and cannot be selected or moved. It's as if they have hardened into an immovable, unselectable mass and are now invisible to the pointer. Other objects in the these layers can be selected and moved. Quote Link to comment

islandmon
If after following ase's steps 1&2 the objects are still stuck then you are possibly experiencing a somewhat common Class corruption issue. Make a copy of the file then Purge it of all unnecessary items. Eliminate all WorkGroupReferences, too. Patiently, you will be able to recover the data... step by step. Quote Link to comment
Guest
See if you can Force Select the objects (if you have VW 12) Other things that can cause problems with selection are: If the objects being selected are on another layer other than the active one and the two layer scales are different, and the views of the two layers are other than Top/Plan view. If you haven't recently, you may also want to run Disk Utility to verify and repair disk permissions. Quote Link to comment
jck
I have occasionally had the same thing happen - But by zooming out the objects become selectable - kind of like refreshing the screen. Quote Link to comment
