Alok
Hi all, I'm new to VW 12.5, and I'm having a problem applying texture to a floor. When I go to the attributes menu and select the texture I want, it applies the texture only to the top of the floor face. The problem is that the front face of the floor is also visible, so I need the texture to cover this as well. I've searched the forums, but was unable to come up with anything. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, -Alok Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
As far as I know, yu can only apply atexture to the top face of a floor object. In the past, I've used a 3D poly with the desired texture oriented to cover the exposed edge. You may have to move it slightly so that it shows. George Quote Link to comment
MKingsley
Yes, floor objects will only texture the top. You can give the floor a fill color that approximates the texture color to get kind of half-way there. There's also a great plug-in by Patrick Higgins called "Slab Object" from www.vectordepot.com that lets you assign classes (and therefor textures) to each side of 3D polygon. HTH. Alok
Alright, thanks for the info! I just ended up covering it with a 3D Polygon, like you suggested. Thanks! -Alok Quote Link to comment
Don@Black Dog
This method (3d poly) has also been suggested in the past for texturing the outside face of the floor slabs in models, either for coninuity of image or for a special effect, watertable, color band, etc. Quote Link to comment
