Rosebud Studios
I have downloaded the 12.5 update 4 times and none of the installs will finish. It gets past the processing and stops responding at extract files. I let it do its thing over night with the same results. Is there anything I'm missing here or am I the only one having this problem? pateley
Same here - could there be a glitch in the updater which keeps timing out. Quote Link to comment
pateley
Altho' having suggested that I see other users have installed the v12.5 successfully on similar platforms - but are now having issues with e.g. Artlantis and CD4. Quote Link to comment
mrfishbug
Same problem here...I tried running the updater under safe boot and got a new message at the same point in the process which said the program could not connect to the internet...perhaps that is where the glitch resides...? Guest
Those of you that are having problems with the updater, what type of internet connection are you using? DSL, Cable, T1, dial-up, etc. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Problems with Artlantis and c4d probably have to do with the plugins made by these companies not yet being compatible with the version. This is standard behavior for third party products - it usually takes them some time to get their plugins to work with the new versions. Quote Link to comment
pateley
Agreed vis a vis plug ins and incompatibility. This has been an ongoing topic on one of the other forums (general discussion). FWIW I am on a cable modem with a wireless (airport) connection but I doubt this is the problem. This 2nd topic (12.5 updating) is being debated on the Installation Inquiries forum too. Ethan
Same problem here. Running MacOS 10.4.7 on a cable modem Quote Link to comment
Guest
How long do you wait? At the install wizard screen that asks you if you want to check for updates, select NO. This will prevent the installer from going out to the internet prior to the installation completing. Quote Link to comment
Rosebud Studios
I'm using a wireless cable modem connection. On the mac I don't have a wizard sreen that asks me if I want to check for updates. Is there somewhere else I can go or turn on to see this option to select NO? Quote Link to comment
jamesfentress
I, too have tried 4 times with the exact same results. First I redownloaded, tried again; let the ball spin for two hours or more. Shut down sharing before 2nd attempt; again, a couple of hours of 'processing'. 3rd tried restarting before install. 4th, shutdown then did same. What next? Quote Link to comment
Guest
If you can't get the updater to work, the best bet is to request an installation disk - 888-646-4223 or sales@nemetschek.net Otherwise, the only other thing I can suggest is that you either try to download the file again and re-run the updater, or try to connect via a wire, rather than wirelessly.
