Don@Black Dog
I am trying to do a screened in porch. Any ideas on how to do screens? Possibly a costom window? or draw all the framing and extrude a poly line for the panels, give it a texture? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Guest
I actually have a screen texture that I created. If you want, send me and email and I can send you the texture. I basically used the mesh shader along with a grid transparency to get the look of a screen. It took quite a bit of time to create. Unless you are bored and really want to create it yourself, I suggest starting from my texture and then editing it to what you want. Quote Link to comment
Don@Black Dog
Thanks! How do you apply it? Same as other textures? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Yep. You can even use it for window panes and the leaf of a door using the various class settings. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Recently, we were asked to design an Aviary enclosure for the local Marine Park. After much experimentation... including scanning and creating a texture exactly matching the 3/8" S/S Phantom Mesh wire fabric...the end result was controlled entirely by the output DPI . The most basic 'faux' mesh texture was equally effective as the most complicated 'exact' scanned Phantom Mesh texture at the 300dpi used for rendering & printing the preliminary designs. Matching the useable bitmap 'bandwidth' to the information saves wasted time & resources.
