P Retondo
Files can become corrupted. It's difficult to make a suggestion as to what you can do since you haven't supplied important information, such as whether other files are working properly. What exactly do you mean by "ive refernced the design layers out but it the second wasted file setup"?? Quote Link to comment
brentm
thanks for the interest Pete this problem has affected two files, both were open when XP had a blue screen crash, ie shut itself down when i rebooted and attempted to open the files VW opens and has no porblems (ie other files are uneffected) but the file i was working will not open becuase VW states it's now corrupt. the workgroup referencing allows me to exact model layers from the file so i have some data to continue the project with Quote Link to comment
Guest
A blue screen at any time while using Windows is not a good sign for the state of your operating system. Do you happen to know what message appeared on the blue screen? Have you taken any steps to resolve the blue screen problem such as running Scan Disk, Defrag, or contacting Microsoft? Ray Libby
I agree with Katie, blue screen is a serious problem with your operating system. The first thing I would try is a repair of Windows XP. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=REPAIR+XP I have found with a problem that serious a reinstall of XP is usually the only answer. brentm
i have run scandisk, system said i didnt need to defrag, and ive keept in contact with the tech guy regarding the issue, i might then need to to try starting fresh and see if it soves the problem Quote Link to comment
P Retondo
VW may or may not have had something to do with the OS crash (I've never had one in over 10 years of using the program). But, for sure, the OS crash caused your files to become corrupted, and recovering them as you have done is the best I've ever been able to do. Good luck! Quote Link to comment
