MikeC
I have inserted a window in a wall but the wall is only about half the height of the window. The top of the window projects above the wall to form a dormer. The problem is the thin line that is the top of the wall remains visible right across the window and when rendered it casts a shadow where there should be none. The only work around I have found is to project the window forward and hide the wall line behind the glass but this will not work if the glass is transparent. Is there a better way? mike m oz
You can overcome this symbol insertion into walls limitation by not inserting the windows into the wall. - Create your window symbol as you want it, with a unique Class. - Use the 3D Reshape tool to castellate the top of the wall. - Turn off the Wall Insertion Mode and place instances of your symbol into the wall gaps you have created. You will need to be careful to make sure they are located correctly, but this should give you what you want in both 2D and 3D. Quote Link to comment
MikeC
Thanks for the help. It works, I just hope I do not need to do it often. Quote Link to comment
