tkehr
Reinstalled my Minicad 7 on my new XP machine. Installed off the CD and applied patches 701 and 703. Then installed QuickTime 6. Discovered that it's not compatible and unintalled QuickTime. Then downloaded and installed QuickTime 5. Still getting the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error. I do have a default printer selected on the network. Any ideas how to make this work? Quote Link to comment
0 Guest
MC 7 is not signed for use with WinXP. The first NNA approved and signed version of VW compatible with WInXP is VW 9.5. Quote Link to comment
0 tkehr
Bummer. As an alternative I tried the VectorWorks Viewer 10.5.1 so that I could at least view my files. The Viewwe says my MiniCad 7 files are too old to be read by the viewer. I have several years worth of jobs created in MC7. What are my options at this point to be able to read them? 0 Guest
Buy a new version of VW is just about the only option you have. The Viewer will only read back to VW 9 files. The application will read and convert MC 7 files. You may want to try to update the video driver to see if that's causing the crash. Make sure you have Internet Explorer installed and it's at least version 5. Past that, I don't know what else could cause the crash other than an incompatibility with dlls or one of a million other things. Basically, you are dealing with a program that is about 7 years old and an OS that is only two years old. Quote Link to comment
