If you create a PDF with Acrobat distiller in OS 9, you will get a much more efficient PDF than you will with Print2PDF, or OS X's Quartz based PDF. (from the print preview) The best way to make a PDF under OS X is still to print to a PostScript file, and then process that file with Acrobat distiller.
