Rebecca R
Hi, I've imported my own plant catalogue to VW 2024 but the fields listed under 'more data' when you 'Edit Plant Style' do not entirely correspond to the fields specified by the PlantCatalogDef list and some of the specified fields are missing altogether from 'more data'. I want to use the missing data in worksheets/reports and can't find it under 'Plant Record' or anywhere else. Am I missing something? Is there anything I can do about this? Many thanks, Rebecca Edited May 4 by Rebecca R Adding more info. Quote Link to comment
Carol Reznor
Hi @Rebecca R Your own plant catalogue is that based on a txt-file or is it a Filemaker type? If it is text based I find it helps to open it in a spreadsheet application. Then add a Header row to your file. Then insert the 'More data'-fields as header and rearrange the columns so that they have the same order of the fields as displayed in the Plant More Data. Hope this helps Quote Link to comment
Rebecca R
Hi @Carol Reznor, Thank you for replying. My own plant catalogue is a txt file created from an excel file whose columns reflected the PlantCatalogDef list recommended by Vectorworks ( https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2023/eng/VW2023_Guide/Plants1/Importing_plant_catalog_data_from_a_spreadsheet.htm ). Perhaps the PlantCatalogDef list is misleading then and I should use the 'More Data' fields as you suggest? I'll try it, thanks! Rebecca Quote Link to comment

Hope this helps Hi @Carol Reznor, I finally got round to trying your suggestion, and unfortunately it doesn't work. I think it's something to do with the fact that I'm using a plant catalogue not the plant database. The data from my .txt file creates a plant catalogue fine, but the information doesn't all map on to/appear in the plant style 'more data' tab, and there doesn't seem to be a way of presenting that missing data in a worksheet either, e.g. 'Blooms Begin' does not map onto 'Bloom time'. I've called VW for support so hopefully they'll get back to me soon. Will update this thread if I get a solution. Thanks, Rebecca Quote Link to comment

If VWX support can’t help, I can fix this for you. Just send me a PM next week and we can discuss how to proceed. 1 Quote Link to comment
Poot
Hopefully you can share a solution from VW team if solved. Not currently needing this, but will be very useful in near future as I am going to try working with setting up something similar. 2 Quote Link to comment

It's on our list to tackle this too, please do update if you discover the answer! 2 Quote Link to comment
Rebecca R
@Katarina Ollikainen are you able to help with this at all? I've been waiting for a while to hear back from the VW Service Select helpline, and chased it up once, but nothing yet. I'd really appreciate your advice! Quote Link to comment
