since it's possible to check out single objects in VW Project Sharing, it can happen, that more than one users want to check out/modify the same object.
Now, we can write an email but, it's not always that easy, to describe "which object" someone is talking about. A system to REQUEST an object would be great (and neccessary) for a fluent Project Sharing workflow)
Sending a screenshot, sending a mail, asking the other person to look on my screen,... is of course possible, but a bit to complicated, somehow...
