Control revision lists for multiple title block symbols- apply all button

I've attempted to used the 'Title Block Manager" to change multiple sheet revisions but it says that there are "No title block border objects detected".

All of our office templates use title block symbols, which can have some mass control for copying project data to all active sheets etc.

 

The major PITA is having to individually drill down into each title block to change revision data. Yes you can apply a new revision to all the sheets (or a selected list), but what if I want to delete an erroneous revision? Or start fresh for issuing 'For Construction' drawings with numbers instead of letters? 

 

Have I missed some functionality somewhere?

If you see this alert you are probably not using the Title Block Border object. The Title Block Manager works with title block border objects only. If this is not the case, could you share a sample file showing the issue?

I am aware that I am not using a Title Block Border Object. 

My question is really about further control of title blocks as symbols. There appears to be some mass control, but not enough to be efficient. I'm not in a position to change our office standards.
