I'm using the countertop tool in a kitchen and adding a backsplash. My backsplash profile is set to a rectangle that is 1/2"deep x 18"high for the bottom of my cabinets. I have a range with a hood that is an additional 18"-24" above the bottom of my cabinets. I've gotten the backsplash modifiers to subtract an area but I haven't found a way to add an area. Is this possible in the current version or might it be possible in a future update? Thank you, Derek

Why are roofs calculated from the bottom?
NickMac posted a question in Wishlist - Feature and Content Requests
So I have been using Roof objects as roofs and as ramps/slopes. I believe this is fairly common practice. Why on earth does vectorworks calculate everything from the bottom? We use Top of Ridge RL's, Roof Edge and Gutter RL's. Top of slope RL's and Bottom of slope RL's. Never in all of my architectural experience have I wanted to set the bottom of a sloped object to a specific level. When designing, the important features are on top of a sloped object. Apparently from the VWX perspective it is intuitive to set the bottom of the slope to the Top RL minus the cosine of the slab thickness to set the Finished Level. ??? It would make more sense to set the top of roof RL's that correspond with the top of the slope/roof, and let the roof thickness move down rather than up. Same for the slab tool. Why would I set my slab to -250 from the finished floor level and then add thickness on top of that. If I change my floor construction it just means that I have to get all my slabs and move them up or down. Surely it would make more sense to set a slab to the finished floor level, then let the slab thickness move the bottom down in the Z axis. -
Hey there, is there a workaround to extract the texture pads on a site model for further use? I cloud imagine to generate solids via marionette from the 3D polygons (for BIM use). I know it is possible to have a 3D hardscape, but with serious drainage planning i can't get what i want. Cheers...

Is it mandatory to drape "2D" Geometry of Modifiers on the DTM first ? It has been a while since I created my DTM but see that all Modifiers were draped on the DTM surface (which I think I wouldn't have done if working without ?) Especially I mean : a) Texture Beds b) Retaining Edges around (flat) Modifier Patches As I see the Modifiers still working ALTHOUGH some of them meanwhile lost parts of their Z-Position against the DTM (Maybe from doing modifications like moving or adding points that tend to jump in Z)
