  1. My firm and I have been wondering for a while now if there was any considerations for adding the ability to create custom fields to the many different objects we use (hardscape objects, fence objects, curb objects, landscape objects, etc...) and making them style or instance based. I know the "Title Block Border Style" has something similar to what I'm talking about (see below screenshot). I put this out there because every firm, including us, has a different way of reporting materials, objects, plants, etc... and differences in what we want/like to report. I think having a custom field to add IDs or any other identifying text to an objects style that can be toggled as class or instance based would be super helpful in reporting and schedules. My firm in particular likes to "ID" everything and attach those "IDs" to specific descriptions and details (see image below). The problem is that, the ID field that was added to Hardscape and Landscape Areas is not available to every "object" like fences or symbols like gates. So, we can't report everything using the same way. Side-note we do get around this problem by using "Records". While "Records" are really great for adding custom information, them not being attached to the objects style as well as any pushes made to one object not permeating to other similar objects creates it's own headaches. *Example being, if I attach a record to an object and have a worksheet reporting that object's ID and Description it shows up correctly in the worksheet. But, if I then need to change the Description or ID and I have multiple of those objects I now need to go into the objects attached records and make sure those IDs and Descriptions get updated there.* Hope this sparks some good conversations about how style based objects can become better!
  2. I've been trying to find the solution to this for a while, but I'm not sure if I'm googling the correct terms. I want to make the Borders of Hardscapes more real-world accurate. When I apply a texture to the Border Slab in the Object Info, it visually looks like the rest of the hardscape (i.e. a seamless texture repeated across the plane of the surface). This hasn't been an issue in the past, but we recently showed some renders to a client and they fell in love with how "unique" and "creative" the pattern of the border was, and we had to explain to them how this was just representational and not accurate to what we normally install for borders. I'm struggling to insert URL images to show what I mean so here are some hyperlinks instead: How the paver border looks in Plan View Render shown to Client An example of the look we're trying to achieve Is there a specific setting somewhere to make Renderworks textures align to curves and look how they're supposed to, or some workaround? I'm working in Vectorworks Landmark 2023 SP6 (Build 711238) (64-Bit) Thank you!
  3. Hardscape object set as “ site modifier ” can not be applied on existing terrain, only on purposed terrain, contrary to site modifiers objects which have the option so those site modifiers objects can be applied on existing OR purposed terrain. This option can be really useful sometimes. Even if there are really good enhancements to those tools in Vectorworks 2023, I think this option needs to be added. Do we have a chance that this could happen ? Thanks  !
  4. Hi community, I am having trouble creating a legible hardscape section viewport. Somehow all the viewports are showing a solid block instead of a layered section. Please see attached file for details, thank you! HARDSCAPE SECTION.vwx
  5. How do i create slab with more than 15 slopes with different elevations. For better understanding i have attached image of parkade here. I have tried with hardscape aligned slab modifier (top) but slopes are far from what it should be. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1uQIei5CxFwRpUgfAQ5tbSQPXL5nrXX9N?usp=sharing
  6. trying to make a tile or hatch of a paving transition of hex blocks from 8" down to 5". we will have conditions where the leading edge is curving and i would like the center line of each of the bands of pacing to be consistent with the radius of the curve with a sand joint of variable width between. without exploding and drawing and moving each paver individually can this be done. Thanks
