I do a lot of renovation work. Part of the process is taking the field sketches and using those to model existing conditions. In the software, and established workflow, I was using before I could throw two parallel entities down, ether lines or walls, associate a dimension, and then change the dimension value to get the entities spaced properly. I'm having some trouble doing that now. Attached is an example. When I associate a dimension in VW by picking the free end points, I don't get the parallel constraint behavior I need. How do I get that? Thanks, Rudy Beuc Untitled 2.vwx

Expanded role for Associative Dimensioning
bcd posted a question in Wishlist - Feature and Content Requests
Associative Dimensions are great! Problem is they work only from Point-Point. I would like their role to be expanded to include associations between other snap conditions. eg Point-Perpendicular.-

Improve 2D and add 3D constraints
Art V posted a question in Wishlist - Feature and Content Requests
Vectorworks has 2D constraints which could be very useful if they would work reliably/predictably. Unfortunately they don't so I'd like to see at least the 2D constraints to be improved to a good level and also to add 3D constraints as there too they can be very useful to have. A program that has good 2D/3D constraints that work predictably and reliably, and allows for multiple constraints to work in unison, that you could look at for the kind of constraints implementation is Bricscad. Their constraints work nicely, though even in Bricscad some combinations may take some trial and error depending on the complexity. Briscad's 3D kernel is a direct modeling kernel similar to Parasolid kernel in VW which will hopefully make it useful for comparison.
