  1. Great tool! Cost only $20.00. You down load the files. Copy plug-in files. Open the Workspace Editor, tools tab, paste files. Can control scale factor, offsets (x,y) and quadrant. 2d only or 3D as well. Put Cornici folder (New England Mouldings) by Mathew Swett, where ever you like. I put mine in Objects > Mouldings as VW2008 does not have any mouldings. Create the Extrude along Path (do not need to use the extrude along path tool), choose the moulding either from the predefined or use the moldings in the Cornici folder, and voila. Works on Nurbs as well. Can also create your own custom mouldings. Also does frames with multiple layers. taoist
  2. Peter, Thanks. Seems like I need to upgrade to VW2011 and get InteriorCad. taoist
  3. Using VW2008. Where are the moulding profile libraries kept? Cant seem to locate any mouldings? taoist
  4. Peter and Jonathan, Thanks. Is what I want to do any easier in VW2011? Yes, we do a lot of interiors (kitchens, baths, etc..) I like VW2011 rotatable hatch/texture feature on planar surfaces. This will be great for showing tile textures as we have clients sign off on tile patterns. Need to utilize more of VW 3D ability for interior renderings. taoist
  5. This is a link to Vector Depot's site and a plugin tool for mouldings. Cost is $20.00 Manual link is here also. http://www.vectordepot.com/market/VM-042Mouldings.html http://www.vectordepot.com/VM-042/Mouldings%20Manual.pdf taoist
  6. Peter, Thanks I will give it a try and document the procedure. This needs/should be way easier than this. taoist
  7. Thanks for the reply. Does anyone have version 2009 or newer who can tell me how and where in the libraries to list use the downloaded moulding files, or do I need to upgrade? taoist
  8. Is it possible to put this moulding library into VW 2008? If, so how to go about it? Want to be able to use mouldings for door windows, crown, base, chair rail etc. Do I import the .dwg/.dxf or is there some other process? taoist
  9. I assume you mean #2 on the keyboard (front) or use the keyboard or rotate to get the correct face plane? At some point this year I will upgrade to 2011 as they have told me that if I do that, I will get 2012 free. Need to check to see if that is still the case. Really need to have multi core aboard. Should have been in 2011 release. taoist
  10. Thanks for the reply! The video covers horizontal planes/ surfaces not vertical. Guess I will suggest to Tech Support a video on this. taoist
  11. OK, great. How do you do use Extrude along path to create door & window trim? Can you do a step by step with screen shots? taoist
  12. I would like to be able to apply textures for countertops that is different that the cabinet texture. Ex: Counter top - Granite texture Cabinet Box - Cherry wood texture medium (light to dark) Cabinet Doors - Cherry wood texture light or dark Can this be done on the fly? Can't figure out how to separate the components to apply different textures. How do you use Styles for Cabinet, Doors, Kick, and Counter? Are these editable on the fly or strictly pre-defined and I would need to create libraries (for lack of a better term) for different finishes. Am I limited by the number of Style numbers? I know I am asking a lot here, but I need to have a good understanding of how this works. taoist
  13. Would be great to have Batt Insulation wall fill (Hatch/Pattern) when drawing insulated walls in plan view. This would save us the time of using the Batt detail tool to trace/fill-in the walls. taoist
  14. Thanks for the responses. Guess I will add it to the wish list. taoist
  15. Does anyone have a hatch for use as a wall fill when drawing or creating walls in plan view?
  16. When drawing/creating walls in plan view, is it possible to show insulation pattern/hatch in plan view without having to use detail tool set and trace walls to fill in? In other words, create a wall with the insulation pattern/hatch showing in plan view to discern insulated from non insulated walls.
  17. How does one apply/draw/show interior/exterior trim for doors and windows to show in 3D. When using OIP, and show in 3D, shows only square trim. Same for baseboard and crown moulding? Anyhow to's or videos on this subject? Can't figure it out. taoist
  18. I agree that it is more important to have a stable release that the "sell the sizzle" approach. But that does not bring revenue in the door. All one has to do is review the forums and see the issues they are having. Yes, I am sure some of it is newvbie stuff. Besides the advances that have been made in VW, they are still behind the curve in utilizing hardware. Maybe they should go to a 2 year or 2-1/2 year product cycle. I like to think/feel that VW is more concerned with a great product (quality) than Oh, we have to have a new version every year just to say they did it. I love VW, but it needs work to get up to some other software that is available. IMHO
  19. I could be wrong, but I think it is to late for that. VectorWorks releases new updates every year. We are rapidly approaching the half way point to the new release.
  20. Yes indeed. If we don't ask for it, can't complain if we don't get it.
  21. I do not agree with what you call the LazyBoy stuff. The idea is to be as efficient as possible. Why spend the time drawing or creating if you do not have to. We have pre-defined walls We have roof options (parameters) to select before we create the roof We have window and door options IMHO
  22. I agree with fixing 2011, but this is the wish list forum is it not?
  23. How about utilizing all the cores of a multiple core CPU. It would also be great to use the GPU's for the better graphics cards available. How about way easier ways of drawing or showing trim for doors and windows. Currently, it is way to convoluted of a process. We should be able to selected what we want for interior and exterior trim for doors and windows. Other software exists that will do this. Nothing to draw. Just select what style trim you want and it is done. Shows in 3D as well. Can even change in 3D. You can even create your own. You can import profiles as well. The idea of computers is to increase speed and efficiency. How about options on roofs for Hip and full Hip returns instead of having to draw them. Same goes for crown moulding. Especially for cabinets. How about being able to pre-define the interiors of a room. Ex: Select wall coverings (paint, wallpaper) be able to set multiple vertical layers. Lower portion of wall wainscoting, upper portion paint or wall paper. Crown for ceiling trim. Base, shoe moulding, ceiling color, etc. Pre-define the interiors of rooms. Other software exists that will do this. How about when placing sinks, they auto automatically cut the hole in the countertops. How about edge profiles for countertops.
