  1. oh sorry i think this is a VW 2008 feature....:-(( and does not exists on VW12.5!
  2. and don't forget to tick the "keep the edit view on Exit" than its just like edeting in the viewport (rightclick on viewport than select edit - than click the button) works well for me! cheers joerg
  3. Hi CS1! if i understand right, its all sheetlayers... so if i have this problem i duplicate the whole sheetlayer rename it let's say "A3 transparent". set the pagesetup than on this sheetlayer and than using the allign and distribute tool. place the top and bottom viewport, activate all viewports and run distribute space vertically and "align to the right", for example sometimes i use a 2d locus to mark the printed area and group it with the viewport, so i align to the loci if my viewport is located in the middle of the page... hope it helps somehow... cheers
  4. hi leonard! happened to me quite a while ago... one time it was a corrupt font... i selected all imported text and changed the font, made a new file and copy/pasted all the content i needed and it worked again... the other occasion was an imported drawing and an element was very, very far off the original drawing content. i copied the part i needed in a new drawing, which solved the problem.... good luck!
  5. And its try and error all the time when you open, for examble an older (converted) file with many rotated rectangles, and your zoom position is that close that you can`t see the blue triangle
  6. sorry iam working with Leopard...got mixed up with all the cats... I just discovered that the "open file" Dialog-window keeps it settings...! cheers Joerg
  7. i must confess that i am very, very lacy ... therefore i always get annoyed when i have to do an unnecessary thing again and again! One of this things is to readjust the window-size that appears after you clicked "save as" or "export"! In VW12 you had to adjust it once than it kept the setting but now you have to do it over and over again... any trick for this??-or is it panther that causes this? Just try to save mouse-miles ;-) and of course time! Thanks! Cheers Joerg
  8. Bthw. i hate beeing rated a "greenhorn" as i started with minicad5... ;-))
  9. Thanks! So it is supposed to work that way...hmmm. That means a lot of thinking around first you have to check orientation of the rectangle than you have to figure out which anchor to check. As much as i love the (less than 90 degrees-) rotated rectangle remaining rectangles, but when its rotated 90 degrees it should not swap orientation, (Or the anchor should rotate orientation with the object) because thats bread and butter and you have to deal with it all the time!! And just thinking of a correction while you zoomed out and didn't see which side the correction went to because you checked the not logical position of an anchor.... this can cause a lot of trouble!
  10. an other strange thing... if i draw an normal rectangle than rotate it by 90 degrees. than try to adjust the horizontal dimensions in the Object Info Palette (first selected the right or left anchor) typing the dimension and than it always reshapes as if one selected the middle anchor.(both sides move from or to the middle) if you select the bottom anchor it reshapes to the left or the right. It must be something to do with the direction of the rectangle but this is very confusing! is this by purpose or is this a bug? Thanks!
  11. Just for information it works well with the newest built now!! I love rotated plan view great feature!! joerg
  12. Thanks for your Answer Katie! But what i meant was the textsize shown in the editing box while edeting a callout. it is very comfortable when you edit callouts , while you zoomed out to have an overview, so you couldn't read your callout on the screen and the editingbox showed in a comfortable size on screen to make you changes. And this particular Textsize in the editing box got much smaller in VW2008. Bthw. This would be a great featur to all text items...if you doubleclick text it pops up a editing-box in an convenient size for the screen. maybe by choice in preferences...!
  13. is there a way to enlarge the textsize while editing a callout. since VW2008 its VERY small! and almost hard to read...at least on my mac! PS it was much taller at VW 12.5 and a pleasure to work with... cheers joerg
  14. i have a load of iges 3d files in folders and subfolders. is there a way to create an batch import for all files ? Thanks! joerg
  15. Well i have "autojoin" turned off...but still uncontrollable behavior. Does it work for other users?
  16. am i doing something wrong? if you draw walls in an unrotated plan everything is all right. Just select them with the 2D Selection tool and extend where ever i want to. BUT if i try the same walls in an rotated plan the walls go all over the place! Couldn't work that out! rotating plans is great and i just need that!! It would be great if walls behave allright!! Is there a trick? Thanks for help! Setting: Imac OSX 10.5 Vectorworks Architect 2008 (SP2) R1 (Build 82613)

    open GL render

is it possible to have a backgroundcolour other than white to a render in openGL? i like this render mode its quick and with the transparent layers it looks good but as you cant adjust the transparancy (in open GL mode as far as i know) it would be better visable in a darker background...
  18. good source for well designed bathroomsupplies http://www.duravit.com there is a productnavigator and a productmatrix where it is very easy to browse through the products and there is a download of almost every product 2D and 3D. you can collect several downloads and get it in one go and than batchimport from DWG/DXF... and all for free no registration!!! cheers joerg
  19. That's the trick i was looking for!! Thanks Petri
  20. hi Pete! Thank you for replying! this could be done if i draw a layer with many objects and apply a seperate class on each object. I thought there should be a way just to import a set of classes maybe from my templatefile which is empty but hosts a prenamed set of classes... But if i think of it... i should referre the file in a new file and than do it the way you suggested... and than merge the classes.... ti just works the otherway arround of my thinking... ok thanks joerg
  21. Is there a tool witch allows me to import a set of classes from a file i already have? for instance we have a large set of classes on our files and we get a file from somebody else to work on. (As we are not able to paste viewports to our files) we would like to work on the new file but with our class-set.... i couldn't work that out as im looking for a tool that simly imports the classes from a choosen file... Thanks Joerg
