  1. awesome, thanks michael!
  2. Please, please help. Is there any way to keep 2D lines 2D? I normally trace over 2D lines in different 3D projections in order to get the extrusions in the right plane. It seems now, that in v2010, all 2D lines are just 3D lines with no "Z" value (just like autocad). Is there any way around this? It's making it hard to do any 3D stuff from 2D drafting. Thanks a ton, Colin XP Pro 32bit VW2010 SP2 b.116787
  3. Hello, All of my patterns are printing black. I have always used a black/white combo for the attributes. I've tried the option in the printer dialogue box that reads "Print patterns to on-screen resolution" to no avail. Also, has anyone noticed the associative dimension bug in the viewport annotations for v.2010? If i snap a dimension as an annotation, and it associates with source material, it then has the ability to alter the source material on the design layer. Is this intended? I hope not, it's kind of weird, and dangerous if you're not paying attention. Thanks for any help provided, Colin v.2010 SP1 b.114226 XP Pro 16bit
  4. update: seems to be that it's an older file converted to a V2009 file, since i can't seem to recreate the problem with a new file/new objects.
  5. i'm having vaguely similar issues in trying to switch between layers with different 3d projections. David, i suggest you check 2 things: classes, and that your layers are set to the same projection. to digress slightly: i am having trouble switching between layers in 3d views and layers in top/plan view. are 2D lines now 3D lines (like in autocad)? because 2d lines become invisible after changing projection, but appear again after the ol' ctrl+5. i really hope this is not the case, as it was very convenient in the past the have a 2d layer visible in the background while modeling in 3d on an active layer. somehow i can't get that to work anymore. or it could just be a bug since this file was started in V12 and only recently imported into V2009... 6. i would love to be able to treat the cabinet tool as a hybrid symbol, where you'd be able to change the attributes of the 2d part and the 3d part separately. at the moment you need to have a solid fill on the 2d aspect to have a solid render of the 3d aspect. i don't always want that, especially for dashed-in wall cabs and such. might have been fixed, still using v12. thanks -gov xp pro VWv12
  7. yes can anyone shed some light on this please?

  10. I've checked and rechecked my 3d loci. Can anyone help me with this? The doors and windows are all 3d symbols. Using V12 on a PC.
  11. i would like to be able to use "angle" as a constraint for circular stairs in V12. V11 could do it, but V12 has just about "everything but." this makes me sad (see emoticon).
  12. It doesn't appear that you can generate a circular stair based on rotation/degree in V12 (you could in V11). is this true? since most circular stairs are based on a factor of 90deg, it would seem inconvenient to lose this control. thanks -colin
  13. In V12: Is there any way to put textures on them? I don't see the option anywhere, and they keep rendering as white. Thanks -gov
  14. This used to happen to me all the time too. I think they're right about the driver, because i can map now only after my entire computer crashed and all new drivers had to be reinstalled.
  15. wow...can't believe i never thought of that. thanks both.
