  1. And more binding options. When you have a wall with many components, I want to decide which component, not only the outer, inner or core one.
  2. Agreed, but they do work on symbols though (if you have simple objects in side of those symbols.) I still wonder why they just didn't add the auto-hybrid capability a part of the symbol all together, it would have been so much easier, given us so much more, and there wouldn't be an extra kind of object...
  3. Its the basic Fullscreen mode offered by OS X, when you enable it the drawing area window will resize to fit the entire screen and the menu bars will retract. The palettes become a little stickier, letting you stick them to the edges of the screen or each other. (I wouldn't really call them dock-able yet though, not completely.) Oh, it's a mac only thing then. I'm on the Windows side...
  4. It's great they are thinking about it, as I always liked VW for how you can customize it and it would be great of having a better way of sharing/selling your stuff.
  5. Sounds very interesting! And I think it will work much better for the users, as you can incorporate things at a slower pace and one by one. Also that third party plugins sounds nice, is this a hint to some sort of plugin 'store'? (Please say yes....)
  6. I haven't downloaded the trial yet as of several reasons, but what can we understand of fullscreen mode?
  7. Minor? Personally, this is a huge improvement!
  8. What about flat roofs? Are they in it. Can we have sloped slabs too?
  9. Out of curiosity: in what workflow would this be beneficial? For presentation purpose of course....
  10. Can this be a wish list item then? I don't get that the wall component bounds have to be decided by the wall style. A wall style to me is just saying which components will be in it, not how they will be restraint in height, that depends from wall to wall....
  11. The new layer-less story levels do not allow you to create multi-story walls that display correctly on all interposed floors. They DO create a lot of flexibility, and accuracy in modeling wall materials, and some over-lapping from one story to the next that was not possible before. thx for the clarification. So the NEW levels aren't new, but just the ones we had, with the removed restrictions of having to need a design layer attached to it and the overlapping with others of other storys. I can sleep assured....
  12. It is a wonderful platform! I love it, it's great. Apps have the ability to 'talk' and share with each other, from the beginning, (unlike others). And the synchronization between all their stuff is amazing, even with the webapps... Putting in a request now. Thx. I don't know how they make the apps, but there are tools out there to create one app and have it 'converted' to the native platforms.... just saying, I know it's not always that easy.... (being a developer myself )
  13. I know, just a bit scared it's gonna be a mess if both level systems will be in it....
  14. You're turning it around. You asked if it was possible to bind walls or wall components over multiple stories. And that is possible. But that is not why levels were introduced - that is not their goal. Levels were introduced to make working with stories easier. And that is what they do. It improves the workflow significantly. You say 'introduced'. Does that mean that the story levels we have now are also still in there? If so, that will be more confusing.... I hope not off course. Can someone bring some clarity on this please? (From what I understood, the story levels we have now are just being updated...)
  15. But can we bound the wall itself over a couple of layers/storys? And then being able to have our plan views still showing correctly, like VW automatically showing that wall on all layers it goes through? What you are asking is if you can model the building in 3D, disregard layers and stories in the process, and still get the correct plan views for the different stories. The answer to that question is: no. To get a correct 2DPlan representation, you need 2D or hybrid objects on specific layers. Vectorworks will not deduct the complete plan view based on a specified cut height. That only works with isolated objects like the Autohybrid object. Then what's the point of being able to bound your wall over multiple stories when they will not show up? This will result in still having to do windows that span stories with workarounds...

  17. With good 3D editing tools, I also think it's better that history is gone....

  19. Ow, will this mean that storys and their levels are now seperated? Or does that stays the same, but with the exception that they can be at any height? Glad to hear that wall components can now be bound to a level, which I always wanted to do, as those offsets just didn't feel right.... Are these component bounds attached to the wall style? or can we override them for each wall? The second would be great for walls under roofs...
  20. A question about the 3D hatches: Will classes now have two fills? One for 2D view and one for 3D view? Or how else would these 3D hatches be applied? (Maybe we need to choose between hatch or texture then?)
  21. Thx! That will sure make it a lot easier to cope with, and to explain to customers....
  22. Thx for the info. It's things like this we need to know to understand why wishlist items are taking time to implement, as it's mostly due to other things needed first.
