We jsut updated from V 10 to V 12 this week. everything is going fine but in a few random files the font is changing. We use Graphite std Narrow in the office but VW is substatuting Geneva font. All the correct fonts are loaded. This is no dialog box that comes up when you first open the file. Sometimes some of the font change other times it is all of it and sometimes it is olny the worksheets that change. Does anyone have any experise with this happening. Please help! This is really anoying!

I wish Vectorworks would stop adding steps in the dialog boxes. I.E. Page setup, wall preferances. These extra steps add A LOT of time & are just pure annoying. Just because you combine stuff together does not mean it is quicker. I thought the ideas was to make it more user friendly. If you had to plot 50 drawing where you had to set the page setup for each one, you would know what I am talking about. So please stop adding steps where they are not needed!!!

Is there a script or command to get rid of duplicate objects on top of each other? It is very anoying & I don't know how it happened I must of pasted in place objects twice. Thanks!

I have a consultant that sent me a dwg from ADT. He "dumbed" (his word not mine) it down for me. He got rid of all the 3D objects and saved it to 2000. I am still getting that error message. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Here recently VW seems to have trouble shuting down. It take around 3 min. Has anyone every had this happen. I was just wondering why all the sudden it started doing this. Thanks! K

i ahve a jpeg inserted in my drawing. When I plot it is way to dark. Is there a seeting where I can adjust the brightness of the image. I use a HP 800ps. Thanks!

Is there a command or a way to create a shortcut to repeat the last command? Thanks K

They seam to be changing within the sesson with out having adjusted them and no crashing.

We just moved ours from a table top to the stand. I downloaded a pdf fro hp to explane how to attach the stand to the printer. Go to hp.com and look for assembly/repacking instruction to download. It take a while to find but it is there.

This is becoming anoying. From day to day or drawing to drawing I notice my autosave perferences are changing. I only notice when VW crashes and my work is not saved. I have it set for autosave to a backup folder every 10 min. Also the line thicknesses in atribute defaults changes from mm to mil by itself every now and then. Any thoughts? K

Yes all layer show up on screen and are truned on to print.

Has anyone ever had the problem of all the layers that are turned on not printing? This particular drawing only does it some times. It happens more frequently some I imported everything into a new dwg. That has fixed it for now. Just wanted to know if anyone might know why it is happening? Thanks

When I print a page with a worksheet on it a box shows up around it. I know that all the borders are deselected and the linewieght is set to 0. On the screen the box doesn't show up. I am printing to a HP 800ps. I had this happen on rhe Hp 455ca but i fixed that with unchecking everything under VectorWorks in the print dialog box. When I send it to the 800 all are unchecked also. Just wondering if any one has had this happen? Thanks!

Thanks for the advice, but when I did that it still crashed in print. We set the printer up with the IP address instead of apple talk. I did talk with HP agian and they said that the ip address is the recomended way. It still will not print from old file but we found a way around that be exporting as vectorscript and then importing into new file. I email tech support at Vectorworks and as suspected no response. Thanks all you users!!!!!!! K

Another thing, I know that the files are not corrupted b/c they will print from other machines fine. But if anyone has had experience with this problem & has some input it would be greatly appreciated Thanks! K

Okay here is the deal ... we got a new HP Designjet 800ps a month ago had not need to print on it till now. In it's first few days files had no problem being set to the 800. Now I can use the page setup but when I choose print in crashes VW & every othe App. on my Computer. Called HP did print set up repair added the printer agian. It will print new files but none of the old files on the computer will print (most of the files were created in 10.5.1) So .... what do I do now? I am still fairly new to Mac & VW so I don't totally understand how things work. I need someone to point me in a good direction. This is something that needs to be corrected soon. Because jobs have to go out. Help please. Thanks!! K

I don't know if this is to late or not but we use Graphite open type font in my office & the only complaint I have is the text is not centered in the text box. Which means if you use the something like the stamp tool you have to go in and manually move the text to be in the center of the stamp. Sometimes there is a lot of editing time spent.

Can I edit the page margin or create a custom page size in VW? I want something similar to what AutoCAD does. thanks Kat

How do I add a dimension standard I created to the document preferances and have it as the default?

Is there a trial copy of vw 11. So I can test it out before I upgrade? I have looked all over the web site and emailed sales and got no response. Thanks

I am using OS X & VW 10.5.1. I want to export a worksheet as an excel file. I have excel for mac but that file extension is not an option when I go to export. I am new to Mac & VW and just not sure how to get around. Is there a setting somewhere or do I have to use one of the extensions that is provide already in the dialog box. Thanks! K

I was mistaken earlier. I am running 10.5.1 already. Is there any way else I can fix the text problem? p.s. height & width settings have nothing to do with the stamp problem. The text doesn't work like it should. I could explain it better if I could attach a picture of the problem. Is that possible here?
