  1. Hi, thanks for the reply. Yeah tried those suggestions but to no avail. The problem I am having is that when I render the viewport in openGL, it will disregard the section line position and render the viewport as if it was a simple front elevation, however the section style information will be displayed correctly. When I render the viewport in any other style (fast/final quality renderworks, shaded polygon, artistic renderworks, etc) then it will cut through the model as it should. This seems to be confined to the openGL render option and I haven't seen anybody able to explain this. I suppose I could render everything in final quality but this takes hours and openGL is my preferred render.
  2. Hello, I am having the same problems. Have created a design based on a cylindrical shape with internal components. I section the model from the design layer (using the section line tool or clip cube does not matter, I get the same results) and the render will disregard the position of the section line and come out showing the exterior view of the Cylinder as if I had done a front on exterior elevation, although the section style information will display correctly. Did you ever get to the bottom of this?
  3. I am having a nightmare trying to get my viewports to render correctly. I have a set based on a cylindrical shape with seats and internal structures. The model is very clean and there are no hidden objects. When I section the model down the centre in OpenGL the viewport displays the correct information for the section style information but will disregard the position of the section line and render the viewport as if it was on the exterior of the shape. About 5% of the time i render I get the desired results but this is a nightmare when I am having to constantly update and change information. Please see below for the desired render and what I usually get. https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/forum/55-troubleshooting/&do=add#
  4. I have done this but it only seems to make the situation worse. Vectorworks 2020 seems completely unable to use the eGPU, the fans do not start up and resposivness slows down completely. Using the same settings on Vectorworks 2019, SketchUp and Rhino get great results. This make me wonder if Vectorworks 2020 has not been tuned for eGPUs & I just hope that a future update will look into this.
  5. Hello everyone, Is anyone having any problems running Vectorworks 2020 whilst using a external GPU? I'm currently running a Mac Mini (2018), 3.2 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 with 64 GB RAM and a Radeon RX Vega 64 8 GB plugged in to a Razer Core X. I recently upgraded my graphics card but saw no noticeable improvements, Vectorworks seems to actually be worse since the upgrade, not utilising the graphics card at all and relying solely on the integrated graphics card. I've tried switching on the option to prefer external GPU in the "Get info" pallet but this seems to be making things worse. Trying to render in Open GL makes the model unwieldy. I've opened the model up in 2019 and it works great, flying around the model is smooth and easy in Open GL and using SketchUp and Rhino is equally great. This isn't the end of the world but there are some useful modelling tools in 2020 and it will be a nightmare having to revert back and forwards to work with both programs, especially when paying for the service select and upgrades. Does this mean that 2020 has not been configured to work with external GPUs? Has anyone else experienced something similar? Many thanks, Hugh
