In the end, I reinstalled VW10 from my CD, then (laboriously) upgraded step by step to VW10.5, checking each time that the tools were working. Everything seems fine again so far.

Thank you for your replies. How precisely do I edit the workspace, remove the tool causing the problem and then add it back in again And if I reinstall, should I reinstall just the VW10.5 download, or should I reinstall VW10.1.2, then the download?

I should explain my reference to "both files" - I tried another job file and got the same result. I also have Julian Carr's WinDoor loaded, and I get the same message with that as well, so I am unable to modify existing or draw new windows and doors with either tool. Is it something to do with the plug-ins being locked?

I have a overhead garage door in a masonry wall - when I tried to widen it, I got this message A VectorScript error has occurred on this locked plug-in. Refer to the file "Error Output" for a further explanation. I clicked OK, then I got this message Object creation failed due to invalid parameter(s). Pleae use different parameter(s)! I searched for the Error Output file, which is not mentioned in Help, but even when I found it mean't nothing to me, and I can't paste it here. Both files are converted from VW8.5 and I have run Utilities upgrade to V2 objects. I am running VW10.5 on a 17" iMac with OS 10.2.6. How can I get this tool working again?

I'm getting erratic behaviour when I try to copy an object & paste in place. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The only way I can be sure it will work is to click away from the object, then select it again. If I try to do it after using another tool on the object then it usually doesn't copy or paste. This was never a problem with my old VW8.5. I'm running VW10.5 (I had the problem before the latest upgrade) on a 17" iMac with OS10.2.6.

I have suddenly lost the use of the door & window tools - they are still on the pallette, but when I click them, nothing happens. The mullion one is active, and all other tools seem to function properly. This is a file converted from VW8. I'm using VW10.1.2 on an iMac running OSX 10.2.6.

Ckeck out Julian Carr's WinDoor 10 on http://www.zeta.org.au/~jbcarr/ (OzCad is also on Nemetschek's add-on page) - this is an excellent tool for designing windows & doors, with a good combination of graphical & mathematical control.

Thanks for the responses. I prefer the hand drawn look, I totally agree with Peter Cipes, and so do clients who have commented on the font. I actually think it's easier to read as well. Katie, you're quite right, although the old font appeared in Appleworks it wouldn't print out, so it's useless. Adobe has Tekton in Open Type format for $US35, so I'm going to buy and install it.

There is a manual called "Dealing With Roofs" written by Jonathan Pickup - go to http://archoncad.co.nz. It's brilliant, leaves the VW manual for dead.

Like you, I have just upgraded, to an iMac 17", and am very unhappy that VW10 doesn't recognise my Tekton font - it's on the computer because it's available in Appleworks. It is such a beautiful font for architectural work, I can't understand why everyone doesn't use it, or why in fact it's not standard. None of the VW10 fonts adequately replace Tekton, and I don't see why we can't use what we want and already have. Did you manage to get a version imported? Does NMA have a solution?
