  1. OK, thanks, I'll give that a try. When exporting instrument data, would I export from each 'source' file, or from the 'merged' file? I appreciate the quick response.
  2. Is there a way to merge separate lightplots into a single file, without having problems with unit ID's? I work for a firm that creates many large lightplots. These plots frequently contain more than 1000 fixtures. Given the time pressure that we are under to get these plots out, my boss frequently says, 'can't you break the plot into pieces, and have 3 people working on 3 files, and then merge them?' It's a reasonable question, but this is what I fear: User1 creates a new light, and VW gives it an ID of, say, 1. User2, in a different file, creates a new light, and VW gives it an ID of, say, 1. User 1 merges User2's plot into his (by cutting an pasting), and now you have two units with and ID of: 1. Before anyone says, "can't happen", let me assure you that I definitely HAVE had plots where multiple fixtures had the same ID, which caused lots of problems. The question is, how would VW recommend that you do this 'merge', or would they say you shouldn't even try?
  3. I recently had the same problem. When I imported in V12 it worked, although not all text imported correctly. When I try to import in VW2008 it fails with: OpenDWG Library Error 309: Internal Error.

    SL10

I have noticed the same lag when attempting to move a light. I have to click, hold the mouse steady for a moment, then move. There seems to be a delay during which SL10 retrieves the database info for the unit in question. If I move the mouse before I see the unit info in the Object Info dialog, it will not move the light. If I wait until the info has appeared in the dialog, it moves no problem. There seems to be a similar problem when typing fields into the object info dialog. I type the first field, press tab (which selects the next field). Type the next field (for instance: the purpose "FNT DL") The result is that the first letter appears in the second field, there is a delay, and then the field highlights, and the rest of the field overwrites the first letter, leaving the result "NT DL" All of these problems are occuring on a G4 Tower with 512M Ram that ran 9.5.3 just fine.
