    Hi there,

let me chime in please, as I just finished some renderings and my client is now asking for a fly-through animated video.

—> A) … can I do animations of a high-quality rendering of an interior scene which also has lots of fog lighting by only using Vectorworks?

—> B) … how would AnimationWorks support my custom event type scenes/renderings?

—> C) … or would I be using Twinmotion? ... just asking in case anybody is knowledgeable with this program ...

—> D) … and does Twinmotion support my 3D renderings with these event scenes with lots of custom light settings? I heard I would have to set up new lights and settings, is that correct?

I am seeking a solution that won't cost me a lot of time and nerves of learning a complex new program, because I spent my last 18 months on improving my VW skills in 3D renderings, event type settings, which Renderworks Styles to use for spaces with no window and special lighting and textures.

Please see attached below a floorplan showing the venue and the path of a fly-through with rendered scenes.

Seems like Vision would be your logical choice.

  2. The braces are likely simple extrudes. More complex if you really need the hardware and not just the 'look.'

The tent shapes are also really easily done as Sub-Division models.

Vectorworks libraries>Objects - Ent Event> event tents.vwx.  There is an array of typical tents in there or you can look at how they were created to make one that fits your needs.

That said, it would be great to have specific manufacturers and rental houses inventory available with associated data records.

The management of sets is currently a bit of a disaster. If you rename a sheet in the current system, the publish dialog "loses" it. I'm not sure why, since managing them should be based on their unique IDs not their names.

If we were given Layer Folders, which have been requested in the past, it might make all of this process easier. Publish could remember Layer folders instead of or in addition to individual sheets. If a sheet was added to the Layer Folder and that folder was present in a saved set, the sheet would be publishes when that set was published.
