The option to have the tops of walls sloped to match the roof is definitely required.

We have the same issues in our office.
We have just tried this little add-on for Outlook. Enables you to save multiple emails in one step. Filenaming is automatic - you get to choose the filename i.e. date, sender, recipient, subject etc. Everyone in the office thinks it's fantastic.

We have an office with mainly windows machines but have a couple of macs also - with a Linux server. We have been operating fine for a number of years but in the last few months there has been an intermittent error when the Macs try and save to the server. Saving to the hard disk is fine.
The error message reads "Internal error - general failure encountered during disk I/O operation (failure on attempt to open file)
The Macs are G4's & the OS version is 10.4.11
VWA12.5.3
Any possible solutions?
We have our IT support company looking in to it too but they don't have any initial thoughts as to what might be causing it.
Thanks

When you choose 'print' and the print dialogue box opens, have you tried selecting the 'enable special processing for transparent color bitmaps' option? This worked for us in getting rid of the white background around trees.

Right clicking the application icon & running as an admin did resolve the problem for me, however each time the program starts or if I double click a file with VW running a box pops up and I have to click "allow access....".
Is there an easy fix for this?

Hi Katie
It appears that I am logged in as administrator.
But, I right clicked on the program shortcut & selected run as administrator & it opened!
So thank you for pointing me in that direction.
Only minor glitch now is that every time I open VW an box pops up asking whether to allow the "unidentified program" access to the computer. But I can live with that for now!

I don't know what version Kermit has but I have Vista Home Premium on a new Dell PC. VW version is 12.5
It is so frustrating. The PC otherwise is working well it's only VW that won't run. Been using VW for months without even 1 crash.

Did you find a solution to this problem? I am having the same issue.
I have tried reinstalling VW but VW still won't start.

Hi Katie
Problem is still happening after restarting. VW does open though in 'safe mode'.
Am I going to have to re-install VW? If so do I have to uninstall VW first?
Thanks

When I tried to open VW today a message popped up saying "Vectorworks application has stopped working" and the only option is to hit the 'close program' button. Anyone had this experience before?
Thanks

The reshaper tool looks very interesting & we will consider it.
Thanks

This would be great.
Maybe a "scale box" in the OIP?

The rectagon does not "only work from the centre" there are 2 modes available - 1 is the "edge placement". This is a useful tool but it does have some limitations.

Hi Christiaan
Good tip.
We have replaced the default content files with ones that suit our office.

Turn off "snap to Loci" in Vectorworks preferences.

I have found that there are default hatches & wall styles that load every time you start VW. You can get rid of these by moving/deleting the files from these folders.
\VectorWorks 12.5.0\Libraries\Defaults\Attributes - Hatches\
\VectorWorks 12.5.0\Libraries\Defaults\Walls\
Cheers

It does say Vectorworks at the top of the message window.
It is happening on numerous PC's in the office.
Everyone has Norton Internet Security running which has been installed for some time. Will check to see if there is some adware programe running.

Hi Katie
I had just changed the colour of a line and about 5 secs after doing this the message popped up.

Hi Katie
Will try and get some indication of what is being done, it is very random and doesn't happen often. It has even popped up when the programe is sitting idle.

Just installed VW12.5 in our office and everyone is getting the following error message.
The specified file could not be found or the file name has been incorrectly specified (failure on attempt to open file)
This message just pops up occasionaly when doing nothing and after hitting Ok, goes away without seeming to cause any problems.
Is this anything to worry about?
Cheers

Have set the default arrow head to be an open type (Tools > Options > Arrow Heads) and this is reflected in the attribute palette - but when a line is drawn the arrow head in the attribute palette changes to a solid filled arrow. Classes are not set to "use at creation" so it is not classes that are doing this. How do you get an open arrow to be the default?
Thanks

Hi
Is a GTX670 video card a good choice for VW2013?
Thanks
