  1. I too, need to chime in and say, yes, please remove the music. Ok, sure, now there is a mute button but often, when going to the site, one forgets, gets blasted by this incredibly annoying music and only then resorts to clicking the mute button. For me, there is no connection between the aesthetics of the company, site, product and this awful sound. I was relieved to see this post and to realize others have had the same reaction. The music does nothing to enhance the site.............period.

  2. Can anyone tell me the difference between these 2 versions of Designer 2008/Renderworks? I'm referring to the label on the box. Are these 2 variations of the Educational Version, both to print with a watermark? Thanks in advance.

  3. I'm on a "Mirrored Door" G4..Dual 1 GHZ PPC with 2GB Ram....been running 2008 secondary, to get used to it and see how it does. All in all, it's fine but, I have to say, at times it does feel a bit sluggish (just slightly) compared to 11.5 (yes, still on this). It is a great upgrade though and, in all likelihood, I'll be moving over to it full time soon. Who knows, I might just have to splurge on a new system soon. Good luck.

  4. Well...interesting. I hadn't run Disk Utility for awhile. I decided to and my disk needed to be repaired...took about 45 minutes to complete the repair. Now VW seems to be running fine, none of that behavior I mentioned earlier. Who knows.....certainly not me but I'm glad to be back into the flow. After Steermouse reinstall, some things still seemed "funny". Thank you all for your attention.

  5. Pat, thanks for the attention given. I use SteerMouse with a Logitech Revolution mouse and I actually think something got corrupted there. I just erased and reinstalled the software and, so far, so good. At least I hope so. Again, I appreciate you offering some help. Thanks.

  6. I wish it was that simple, but really...it's not. I'm not a newbie. I've been using VW for many years, always find a good flow to my drafting routine but, like I said, now, all of a sudden..this weird behavior continues. I've changed mice, restarted, changed workplaces but to no avail. I can go to move a line one second and it's fine, the next second it's "Selected Object has no Edit Behavior", as if I'm double clicking it. I can certainly put up with this but considering deadlines, etc....quite the pain. I thought maybe someone had experienced this and had the instant fix.

    Thanks.

  7. Out of the blue, I keep getting this error message:

"Selected Object has no Edit Behavior"

This is occurring when I simply select a line to move, stretch, manipulate or whatever. There seems no reason for it. The message will come on once, twice, then be fine on say the 3rd try. Is this about my file being corrupted? I've never seen this behavior before. Thoughts? Help? Advice? Thanks in advance.

  8. Katie, I did send the file over to you earlier. I had "Fit to Objects" and, although there is one quirky thing showing up, I don't think that's responsible. At least for the black background. I'm using the title block from my client's office, not my usual one. When you pull back from the drawing, an odd bold line extending into space shows up in that layer (not so far away though). When you magnify in, it disappears. I have no idea what that's all about. I'm assuming you'll see that. Thanks, Katie....I appreciate the help.

  9. Jim, I'm having similar problems(although I'm in 11.5.1) and wondering if Katie was able to resolve any of these issues. My export is showing up in AutoCad, like yours, with a black background and white lines. Also similar layer issues. If you don't mind I'd appreciate any info you might have found out. Thanks.

  10. Making the shift to 3D modeling has been a somewhat slow but very rewarding process for me. Maybe the forum could help on a quick question here. Once I have a molding element created, such as a crown piece, how does one go about mitering the corners? In other words, how would I connect and join 2 crown molding extrusions at a right angle? Thanks in advance for any info/advice concerning this.

  11. I've never been able to scroll horizontally with my "Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2" scroll wheel in VW11.5. Vertical is ok, although a little more "jumpy" than I would like. I know I can pan horizontally but I'm wondering if others have had this problem with the horizontal action of the scroll wheel. This worked well in VW10 but.....not now. Comments?

  12. Is there any getting back a file that is telling me it's unrecognizable, possibly corrupted? It was fine yesterday and now unopenable today. I've never seen this message/ alert before on VW....now VW11.5 (mac). The file is telling me it contains 0 k....not good, I know. I'm just curious if anyone out there has a miracle cure for this. With no back up, this means quite a lot of work lost [Frown] . Thanks.

  13. I've been wanting to export drawings for my website in JPEG format. Drawings are typical blueprint size, 2' x 3'. It seems, when I do, they appear only partially, maybe one quarter of the entire drawing is shown. Is there a pixel or file size restriction when using VW 9.5.2? Is it true that VW10 exports into JPEG in a much improved way? Any information on this topic of exporting drawings for website use would be appreciated. For now, I'm taking screen snapshots, cropping and using, but feel as if the quality leaves a lot to be desired. Thank you.

  14. Well.....I trashed VW Architect Preference File and now everything seems to be fine again. Once I did that, VW opened right up and, at least for the time being, seems to be working fine now. I still would be interested to hear any comments concerning this. Thanks.

  15. I'm on a Mac/System 9.2.2....Total Memory 640MB/ 100MB alloted to VW9.5.2., Running a G4 400mhz.

I've really had no problems with VW for a very long time, has worked beautifully...up until now that is. Out of the blue, when I went to double click VW, a message came on saying I couldn't open it because Renderworks was not found. I don't have Renderworks...never did. Ever since that moment...VW is crashing alot, as is my computer....I'm even going through periodic "Chimes of Death" aka "car crash" sound at startup....blank screen scenario. Any information here would be greatly appreciated. Katie..any thoughts? Have you dealt with this issue before? I feel like I read about this awhile ago in the Forum. Why would VW all of a sudden be looking for a non-existent Renderworks? Corrupted preference file perhaps? I am able to get into it now but it seems to be quite unstable, very susceptible to crashing. Thanks in advance for any help on this.
