That'll overide the pen thickness for all classes viewed in that viewport

    Does that work?

One caveat is that this will only affect objects whose lineweight is set to "By Class" (not sure if this will matter to the original poster or not). The nice thing about DV is that it affects ALL objects within the criteria regardless of whether the attributes are set to By Class.

It does seem like there should be an option to override only the lineweight in the interface screengrabbed above. Not sure why there isn't...

  2. This just happened to me again. I duplicated an extrude via click-drag, but the duplicated one was invisible (but selectable) and acting strange. So I hit undo, hoping to step backward to before I created the duplicate.

Instead I found myself in a state of the file from about an hour ago (!)

I had saved about 10 minutes ago, so I just closed without saving and then reopened.

    Very odd.

  3. Also, unless you truly mean to use "Materials" which are newer and slightly more advanced, you might want to start with just using "Textures" which can be found in the Render tab of the OIP. As Pat mentioned, in 2022 and beyond you can freely apply textures per-face with the "Texture Tool". In previous versions, many objects can have only one texture for the whole object, except for things like Walls or other objects with Components. Additionally, if the object is an Extrude, the Top and Bottom faces can be given textures separately from the Sides, via the Parts dropdown on the Render tab.

Textures can also be found in the Resource Manager, as they are a type of Resource. (Technically they're called Renderworks Textures btw).

Let us know how it goes.

@Andy Broomell It would be interesting to repeat your screen movie and stop at a place where an edge does not show and adjust the smoothing angle and see if you can get it to come back.

Yes if I lower the Smoothing Angle I can get edges to incrementally come back. Of course it ends up making edges appear that I don't want to be there, but to your point it seems to be that the angle is somehow related to the screen POV rather than only the geometry itself. Seems unintuitive.

  5. Does anyone have any suggestions for when the DWG/DXF import results in curves that are no longer accurate? See screen grab below, in which the blue linework is the imported geometry from Illustrator, and the black linework is what it's supposed to be.

If I re-import the exported DWG directly back into illustrator it looks correct, so the issue is not with the exported DWG (and I've tried different combinations of export options in Illustrator). Vectorworks seems to be interpolating the bezier curves incorrectly upon import.

Not sure if there's a more reliable way to do this. For now I'll correct the curves manually, but this leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

    Test files:

  6. The problem is that I've pulled out this geometry from a separate file, where the main focus of the original Section Viewport is the extents below cut plane (it's a Flooring Plan using Shaded mode to display the textures in the model).

I can't have the lines there because it looks like a threshold, whereas the flooring runs continuously through.

I hate that I'll probably have to resort to using stacked Viewports...
