Additional details:
Re importing the DWG back into VW, it appears that VW (2022) exports the DWG with each Viewport saved as a symbol - In addition, some existing symbols are duplicated and sequentially named - assume this is based on how many viewports the specific symbols appear in ?
Quite a curious situation ...
Suggestions are always welcomed

50+ new classes (Layers) added when drawing is exported to DWG
Started with an existing DWG created in AutoCad
One model space - many viewports (sheet set)
Import file & edited in VW 2020
Kept the single model space - edited the viewports as needed.
Exported as DWG back into AutoCAD (2021)
Every thing looks as expected when opened
One strange addition is 50+ new layers (VW Classes) that were added to the file. Each is named with the file name + a number
Re importing DWG back into VW, it appears that VW takes each Sheet Layer and saves it as a Symbol with a sequential designation based on the file name. (?)
Testing additional DWG exports (from VW) with alternate settings ... (TBD)
Suggestions appreciated

Section Viewport NOT rendering correctly after Image Shader Texture was updated.
Section Viewport - Crop / Annotations / Rendering were all set. Tested - worked - looked as expected.
One symbol in the drawing & the viewport was a Monitor with a generic texture applied for the screen image.
This texture was updated with a revised image shader. Same texture was used, It was already applied correctly, and nothing else was changed.
Viewport renders as expected, except it will no longer show the Monitor with a screen image.
¿ Why is the question ?
Other NON Viewport rendering of this monitor work correctly. (The preview in the Resource Manager is one of those suspect Grey Gradient vs a real image)
Solution, after playing with the Image & Shader was to place a 2D image over the monitor in Annotations section of the Section Viewport.
Suggestions are always welcome.

Images without Image Fills ?
The attached shows several images, in a 2D VW 2020 file, without the use of image fills.

Is there a better way to search the HELP file... with Google or ?
Searching has long been a painful issue with VW Help
Some times it is great ! …sometimes there is nothing ?
Potentially, the fail is based on looking for a topic, NOT in the HELP file to begin with.
When coming up short, I typically use the Google “site” trick searching as …
site:https://forum.vectorworks.net - site:https://techboard.vectorworks.net - etcetera
The question is -
¿ Is there a way to, with Google or (?), search directly in the VW/RW HELP that is associated with your current version ?
Why I ask ...
Searching recently in the VW / RW HELP (2020) for “Retrieving Object Names in Worksheets” was with out success.
A hit, though, was returned utilizing “Retrieving object names in worksheets” site:https://forum.vectorworks.net for a 2008 post, by Markus Barrera-Kolb. (However, this post did NOT have the desired chart of designations & a broken link to helpful cheat sheet)
Where I did find information was in an old VW 2016 (¿User Guide?) in a PDF, on a back up hard drive. (Thanks to consistent backing up & to the search function on the Macintosh.)
Suggestions are always welcome.

¿ Is there a built in way to number symbols (¿Number anything?) that are NOT part of a Lighting Plot in Spot Light ?

adding to this old thread ... 'adjust flipped text' not working (¿ again ?)
Text might be reversed in Section ViewPort
Hybrid Symbol (Existing from past VW version drawn as 2D & 3D the combined into symbol)
In the 2D component, these Symbols have Text (Screen Layer) included as identification.
This 2D (Screen Layer) text is in its own Class so one is able to turn it on / off as desired.
This 2D (Screen Layer) text is displayed as expected in Top/Plan and Not in a 3D View
In the 3D component, these symbols have text (3D Layer) as identifier when the drawing is in other than Top/Plan View. Typical this is only in an ISO front elevation or section ViewPort. This text (3D Layer) is in its own Class so one is able to turn it on / off as desired. This Text is 2D (3D Layer) in 3D space. Aligned to the desired 3D location and rotated into position
When the Symbol is mirrored, and displayed in Top/Plan, the 2D text is not backwards (flipped)
When the Symbol is mirrored, and displayed in Section Viewport the text appears backwards (flipped) based on the render mode.
¿ Assume the ViewPort setting for flipped text should always fix this ? Or is it only for attributes added to the ViewPort ?
In the attached VWX file shows that this reverse condition is dependent on how the Section ViewPort is rendered.
Reminiscent of a long standing BUG where graphics (Image shader based textures) might rendered backwards when the anti alias was off .
As is the case (?) when comparing a Fast RenderWorks to Final RenderWorks
One option I thought was viable was to add the needed text information as an Image Prop…
(Image Prop can beset to ¿ always face the viewer ?)
Suggestions are always welcome.

¿ Is there a location now for "Pat's Cheat Sheet Worksheet" ?
Google search (site:techboard.vectorworks.net) is not providing a result.
Attached is pulled from VW/RW 2016 instructions - Searching 2020 VW/RW help does NOT return such information.

Thinking that Open GL is a potential source of some issues. Have NOT pinpointed any specifics, but my traditional use of Open GL has shifted to Custom with LOW settings to speed the process. Especially when test rendering to see how a Image Shader aligns.
One odd thing I have noted. The Re Render that is indicated at the bottom of the drawing often needs an additional Re Render to see the real view (¿ Why ?).
Like wise I see this Rendering Indicator flash on when I perform some simple (Non Rendered) functions. The attached shows when I was nudging in a 3D view at it looks like it Re Renders each time. ¿
Suggestions are Appreciated !

Please see the attached
followed your - create a new User account - scenario
The results were the same
1 - Items are selected, yet they do NOT appear to be selected. (Pillar in this file)
2 - The 3D Preference did NOT take effect when the Top / Plan switched to a 3D view
Next Step ?
(FYI - It took the better part of an hour to go through all the motions needed for the - create a new User account - scenario including the double log in for VW and the 5 min spinning ball waiting the online part.)

Resetting Defaults to match Workflow.
Once upon a time there was an excellent drawing / drafting application called Claris CAD.
At the time, the sign & POP firm I worked at switched from AutoCAD to Claris CAD.
Graphics were the main issue. The Mac & Claris CAD handled them quite well. Text images etcetera. One feature that Claris CAD had (… as I remember) was the ability to alter (¿ any ?) default settings in a dialog box to the users choice. Perfect for a smooth customized workflow. It would be a great advantage for VectorWorks to directly have this feature. (… or to know how to implement this feature ?)
Example: Rounded Corner rectangle. I have never had the need for a such a shape with Proportional Corners. That option appears to be the Default in the Object Info Palette. What I have learned to do as a work-around is to draw this shape with the Shift key held down, and the Corner option defaults to Symmetrical in the Object Info Palette. This requires me to then reshape the Rounded Corner rectangle if I actually wanted a rectangle. What is good: The ninth handle functions as expected.
More steps to accomplish what could / should be simple.
Example Question: ¿How does one change the default of ALL in the Custom Selection to ANY, short of altering with the pull down arrow every time? (¿ And why does the pull down arrow disappear ?)
On the Mac there are setting that require the use of the terminal to alter, yet they can be altered to your needs. Is there a way to look at a specific VW / RW file and edit it ?

Texture adjustments in Obj Info not taking
Something is not normal - Applied an image shader based texture to an extrude. Needed an additional 3D component with the same texture. Needed to align it so it looked like a seamless graphic. (Had already adjusted the other two locations with the Offset H&V in the Obj Info dialog.
Could not adjust / change the Offset H & V until the Attribute Mapping tool was selected.
¿ What is the indication when the screen blinks ? (as though the object is locked...)
What am I missing ?

Thanks for the suggestions
Please see the attached Movie
3D / 3D Hybrid Symbols are the basis for a simple efficient, decades old workflow we use. (... it is like playing with Colorforms ) I find Auto Hybrid to be a bit flaky - looking different in different views. Not behaving the same way symbol to symbol. Not as easy (Before VW 2022) to edit. I have attempted to use them. I tried moving the 2D Layer component in Auto Hybrid symbols assuming that this would provide the desired 2D plan view and simplicity of manipulation. So far it is more effort than value.
The 3D makes 2D results in excessively complex Plan View geometry. Don't see how it is a viable solution for me.
If you look at the 2D / 3D Symbol (Middle) it is very simple in 2D, with only a rectangle to select and position, while the multi part 3D component is not visible in a Top / Plan view. The Auto Hybrid & the 3D makes 2D result in dozens of possible points to select in a Top / Plan view that would only inject error into the process.
Thanks again
Peter

Eliminate unwanted Face Override Texture mapping
After struggling with several frustrating situations, I have deleted the Texture Tool from the active workspace and returned to my regularly scheduled workflow. It appears that the Texture Tool automatically was selected when I applied a texture from the Resource Manager onto a selected object.
I still hit these anomalies where the Object appears to have texture Face Override when none is desired.
¿ How do you reset the texturing in the Obj Info so that the applied texture is only Overall ?

No Escape
Hit several locations where I intuitively pressed the escape key only to find I was stuck in position. This location was Symbol replacement. Did not have the needed symbol, intended to escape out of the process. Stumbled till I clicked on an open space in the drawing. Others I have encountered (I believe…) are all based on items in the Resource Manager.
A consistent workflow has been a hallmark or VW / RW

Objects selected but not visibly selectedThis is similar to the issue with editing 2D/3D Hybrid Symbols
In that case, Object appear selected, yet they are invisible. or.. Objects are invisible, yet appear when zooming or changing views.

3D Wall Hole two in one symbol?

I use Walls and Wall Holes for other than windows and architecture.
The process of creation is easy - it is the editing that is terrible.
Especially with the new multi image(view) 2D/3D Hybrid symbol
