this custom window is not cooperating. i do not want to have any of it opened. it screws up my elevations. i will have to do a work around and this ruins the draw it once concept.

chad, thanks for the idea but NNA needs to complete the door tool if they really want this BIM thing to work. i need to do a workaround in my plan, elevation, & door schedule. this blows the whole draw it once idea out the window. thanks anyways

how can i get the door tool to look like the detail?

mike m oz, thanks for the thought but, no way! i tried to build a 3d fire place & chimney and it was way too complicated. i am not going to add more complication to it.

please see attached. picture "corner" shows pink lines and black. black is wall pink is 2d guides if i set the bottom of wall opening to the bottom of my guides then i cannot get the top of my wall opening any closer to my guide than .039" we need to be able to have 90˚ or more w/ the wall reshape tool.

sometimes the section fill of a section vp does not show. what is going on? other times a whole room of a building will have a section fill as if it is solid. then it goes away. never had this happen before. started to show up a few weeks ago. sp2 related ? while 3d modeling is speedy in some ways, much time is lost fussing with such stuff.

my fonts on just 3 section line will not allow me to change the fonts. if i change it to times then it switches to courier on another sheet. if i go the the other sheet and change the font to times then the previous sheet switches back to courier. what is going on? my font mapping does not seem to have courier in it. see attached

it seems that the following tool are about 90-95% finished. (vw 12 made big improvements) Window Door Stair Section (hot) DTM i say that because i feel that these tools can get me that far and then i have to do a work around. (see my posts in the wish list for door improvements) if they brought these tool to completion then they would not have to work on them any more. thus freeing up time for other tools less developed. i can not see these tool needing to be endlessly improved for all time. what does everyone think?

when i go to get a Field Value for the door schedule i have to scroll through this "mile long list" of every Field Value in the program. need to have it where we see only the topics first (door, window, stake tool, etc) THEN once we pick the topic we get all related fields OF THAT ONE TOPIC.

need to have 2 views of door. one shows one side of the door the other shows the other side of door to show different trim and stuff

on double doors you need to show which side is active. need to show one open 90˚ (active) the other closed or open 30˚ (non active)

need to have a way to have the Handing show up on the schedule that is tied into the door swing. so if i change my door swing the handing will change in my schedule. Left Hand or Right Hand

the rough opening for a door width is different that the height. the door specs i have in front of me is "Add 2 1/2" to door width and door height." so that means 1 1/4" for my shim gap. this is gives me the correct RO for the width of door but does not give me 2 1/2" for the RO height. you need to add: Shim Gap Jamb: Shim Gap Head: to the door tool

vw has unexpectedly quit etc. i sent the file to atimmons at tech support. the file is called 100-ASSY&PARTSxx i have no problems printing other vw files. as soon a i click on the print button it crashes.

see attached. this is a vp of one modeled object. no reason for the renderings not to line up. did i do something wrong?

ok, this has happened before when i upgraded. i have one file, it is the same one as before, that when i do >File>Print it crashed VW. i have no problems w/ my other files. before, there was this patchy thing that i ran on my files and it solved the problem. i can send the file if you need to see it.

i found out how to do a PLAN w/ dlv i do not seem to be able to do sections/elevations.

seems only to do it in horizontal. vertical seems ok.

the attached image shows a wall that i stretched from 35 feet to the size you see. i held down the shift key when doing so and it is not straight. i did this 4 times. this is not the first time.
