nurbs roadway

Is there a way to render a nurbs roadway without the black line running down the center? Is it on a class I could turn off, or something?

I had tackled that one before and for a while decided that the only way was to set both fill and pen to black, or convert to 3D Polys and delete the line. Any other color but black would come out with slight differences between line and fill. You would expect to be able to set the line weight to 0 but no go.

What I finally chanced upon was to set the pen style to pattern and then set the pattern to none.
