Vitanaut
Anyone know of a way in VW to create the following (similar to edit mesh in 3dMax, transform bend, twist)? I want to turn up one corner of an extruded polygon. Imagine a paperback book lying flat and what it would look like if you were to bend up and lift one corner? Lofts? Nurbs? Multiple extrudes? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. What's the easiest simplest way? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted March 17, 2003 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 17, 2003 Here's how: 1. Draw a 3D Poly using the 3D Poly tool; 2. Using the Extract Surfaces tool, select the 3D poly and click the checkbox in the mode bar; 3. Now you have a NURBS surface. Set the U and V degrees in the Info palette to, say, 3 or 4. Click the "Show Vertices" checkbox in the Info palette also. Now you can see your control points. 4. Go to an isometric view and use the 3D Reshape tool to lift your corner. Note that you can constrain the movement of the reshaped point using the mode bar options. Quote Link to comment
