Stuart Savel
Is there a way to import .DWF Files Quote Link to comment
TBennett
.DWF files are just files for viewing. The format was made for increased security with file sharing so that the people seeing the file can not editi it. At least that is my understanding of it anyway. You will need a dwg file to be able to edit it. Quote Link to comment
Stuart Savel
That is what I understood but is there a way to import it. and place it in a drawing. Such as structural details from an engineer etc. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Unfortunately, this file format is not able to be imported or opened by any software other than the DWF Viewer to prevent file changes. Quote Link to comment
oldguy
Some work arounds: If you had contact with someone with a PC they could install AutoDesks's DWF viewer and, again, "IF" they had a PDF-printer, print the DWF drawing to PDF. Now, I am NOT a VW user, but, I do believe you can make use/import a pdf document, at least as 'background image'. There is at least one Mac based viewer that I know of CADViewer by Tailor Made: http://www.cadviewer.com/products/cv.htm This may help JimL Quote Link to comment
