ztarantino
Hello, I am planning a university commencement can want to see what kind of shadow the tent covering our stage would produce during the ceremony. To do this, I figured a roof would produce a very similar shadow, but when I put it into either fast or final render, the roof disappears. I have attached images below that shows the roof in OpenGL and then Fast Render How would I fix this to show a shadow? Quote Link to comment

Not 100% sure what you mean, would this be from the Object Info Panel? I have the Overall and Top set to a dark wood grain. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted April 9, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 9, 2019 If you restart Vectorworks, does the texture then block light as expected? If not, reply back with that texture applied to a simple text sphere or other solid object in a sample file attached and I can take a look. 1 Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted April 9, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 9, 2019 OK -- when you select the Roof object, what fill attributes does the roof have in the Attributes palette? If it's None, try giving it a Solid fill. 1 Quote Link to comment
ztarantino
I had already tried restarting the file, and vectorworks, to no avail. The Fill is set to solid, black color. In a new file I put tried a roof with the same texture and same everything else, and it worked as intended. I copy and pasted that Into the original file, and it works now! Thanks for the help Quote Link to comment
