gregory
Hi All, I have recently started a new job where, after 4 years of using Vectorworks V8 (on a mac), I am now trying to learn autocad (on a PC). I have some old vectorworks files in their original Vectorworks 8 format which I want to view in my PC. I have tried downloading Vectorworks Viewer from their main website, but all 3 versions (9, 10, and 11) aren't letting me open my files. Does any one have any suggestions as to another way I can open them?? Regards......Greg Quote Link to comment
gregory
ps just to clarify, I just want to be able to view and print them, not amend them. Cheers Quote Link to comment
alanmac
Obviously you don't have a copy of PC VW8 to open them, and I'm assuming you have no access to the Mac anymore. If you still have access to the Mac then export the files as dxf. Obviously you are not able to import them into VW10/11 etc. but you may find one of the forum members willing to do this for you from your old VW 8 files, return them so you can use the VW viewer. Depends on their sizes and how many. May take pity on you as you have to now work with Autobad. Quote Link to comment
gregory
Thanks for your suggestions. I do have a mac at home, but not with a functioning version of VW. Maybe I'll see if we can get a demo CD here, that may work too (??) Quote Link to comment
