Runtime Error

Recommended Posts

Right click on the desktop. Select Properties.

Click on the Settings Tab. Click on the Advanced button.

Click on the Adapter tab.

That will tell you the manufacturer, make and model of the card.

Click on the Properties button and then click on the Driver tab.

That will tell you the driver version.

You'll need to check the latest version at the manufacturer website. If the number installed is lower than the one on the website, you need to update.

It's not the size of the video card memory that is affecting this problem.

It's the driver version that may be causing the problem.

Follow the steps in my above post to see what the driver version says. I can tell you if the driver installed is old or not.

Cbeckwith -

The latest version driver is 56.72 - April 1, 2004. Go to nvidia.com and click on Support, then downloads. Follow the links on the page to go to the download page.

When you say "Locking up" - is it always giving you a c++ runtime error ?

DO you get the error when you do the same thing, or a variety of things are causing the problem?

Are you "locking up" without getting a c++ run time error?

If so - please describe the behavior - do you loose mouse function, does the screen go dark, do you have mouse function but can't do anything in the program, etc.

The problem occurs after the program loads and a file is opened. When you go to the view button on the main menu, it locks up the program, dropdown box does not open. Trying to create a Layer Link when it locks up and going to the x button to close gives a Program not responding error.
