Guest
What version are you using? Have you updated the video card driver recently? Quote Link to comment
Cbeckwith
Using Version 10.5.1 and on the video card driver I am unsure. Where do we get the Video Driver to update. What version? etc. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Right click on the desktop. Select Properties. Click on the Settings Tab. Click on the Advanced button. Click on the Adapter tab. That will tell you the manufacturer, make and model of the card. Click on the Properties button and then click on the Driver tab. That will tell you the driver version. You'll need to check the latest version at the manufacturer website. If the number installed is lower than the one on the website, you need to update. Quote Link to comment
Guest
It's not the size of the video card memory that is affecting this problem. It's the driver version that may be causing the problem. Follow the steps in my above post to see what the driver version says. I can tell you if the driver installed is old or not. Quote Link to comment

ErichR
I went around and around with the same 'fix.' Nothing worked - except: Go back to 10.5.0. Still crashes frequently, but not as. Gotta learn to save at least every 15 minutes. [ 07-09-2004, 03:36 PM: Message edited by: ErichR ] Quote Link to comment
Guest
Cbeckwith - The latest version driver is 56.72 - April 1, 2004. Go to nvidia.com and click on Support, then downloads. Follow the links on the page to go to the download page. When you say "Locking up" - is it always giving you a c++ runtime error ? DO you get the error when you do the same thing, or a variety of things are causing the problem? Are you "locking up" without getting a c++ run time error? If so - please describe the behavior - do you loose mouse function, does the screen go dark, do you have mouse function but can't do anything in the program, etc. [ 07-09-2004, 04:52 PM: Message edited by: Katie ] Quote Link to comment
Guest
Erich - What video card and driver are you using? Quote Link to comment
Cbeckwith
I currently have 16mb on my Nvida Riva TNT2/TNT2Pro. What sixe do you recommend for the video card for using with Vectorworks? Quote Link to comment
Cbeckwith
The problem occurs after the program loads and a file is opened. When you go to the view button on the main menu, it locks up the program, dropdown box does not open. Trying to create a Layer Link when it locks up and going to the x button to close gives a Program not responding error. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Cbeckwith - Is this with a file other than the one you've already emailed? Quote Link to comment
Cbeckwith
I believe what i sent was different one, but could be wrong. Does it have the same file name as the one I sent to you the first day? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Yes - both files are the same exact file. Quote Link to comment
